For a Qualified signature you have to prove who you are. If you already hold a national electronic ID, that proof exists: you just use it, and the step takes under a minute.
swipesign accepts more than forty of them. You pick your country first, and the list narrows to the services issued there.

The catalogue
These are the services swipesign supports, listed by the country whose scheme they are. The exact list offered to you is confirmed live at the moment you sign, so pick your country and see what comes back.

If none of these is yours
That is the normal case, and it is not a dead end. Verify my identity online at the bottom of the provider screen runs a short video check of your passport or ID card and issues you a qualified signature certificate on the spot.
You do it once. Every Qualified signature you are asked for afterwards, by anyone, on any document, skips the provider list entirely.
Does it cost me anything to use my eID here?
Nothing from swipesign: the sender pays. Whether your own eID provider charges you is between you and them; most national schemes do not.
My country is in the list but my provider is not.
The provider list is confirmed live when you sign, so it can differ slightly from this page. If the one you use genuinely is not offered, verify online instead: it works from any country.
Can I use my eID to log in to swipesign as well?
ID Austria, yes. The other schemes are for signing rather than account sign-in.
Do I need an eID for an Advanced signature?
No. Advanced signatures identify you through your email address and a code to your phone: there is no provider step at all.
